Rosalyn Chen grew up in Asia and experienced first hand the gender inequality deeply embedded in many cultures. She immigrated to the US as a teenager and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego and her Masters in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Southern California. She spent 10-plus years as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch, UBS Investment Bank, and Piper Jaffray, providing comprehensive financial services to government agencies to secure funding for public infrastructure. She has also worked as an expert witness in fixed income financial litigations.
Rosalyn is currently active in philanthropy as a board member and the head of the development committee of the Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, which provides basic services to new immigrants to San Francisco. She is a board member of Upwardly Global, which provides job search training for high skilled immigrants. Additionally, she is a founding board member of the Chavez Family Foundation, whose mission is to advance causes related to immigration, education, and entrepreneurship. Rosalyn is also an avid traveler and amateur photographer. She looks forward to using her finance, photography, and non-profit background to help advance the treaty to end violence against women and girls around the world.
