Lisa Ellis has over 20 years of experience as an Executive working to strengthen human rights and social and environmental justice around the world. She has lived and worked in sub-Saharan Africa for eight years, as well as in the Middle East, South Asia, and South-East Asia. She recently concluded an assignment as Interim Chief Operating Officer at the Center for Law and Social Policy, a US-based non-profit focused on developing and implementing policies that reduce poverty, improve the lives of people with low income, and create pathways to economic security for everyone. Previously, Lisa worked at Landesa, an NGO advocating for land rights in Africa and Asia. Landesa specializes in securing legal title to land for women in the developing world. Landesa believes that with economic rights and power, women have more choices about their and their children’s future. Lisa holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in Economics from UCLA. She is a committed and experienced human rights leader.
