Advance International Law
We partner with governments, the United Nations, and civil society organisations to advance international policies that strengthen global standards to end gender-based violence against women and girls and drive a change in social and political norms.
Strong laws are the foundation of a safer, more just world.
With rates of violence against women and girls intensifying, we need urgent, global solutions, starting with stronger international laws. International law creates binding commitments on governments, providing a solid legal foundation for action and a tool for activists to push for implementation and change.
our initiatives
Adopt a Binding Global Instrument to End Violence against All Women and Girls
We partner with UN Member States to advance the creation of a binding global instrument specific to ending all forms of gender-based violence against women and girls.
Codify Gender Persecution in the Crimes Against Humanity Treaty
We advocate for the inclusion of systematic repression and persecution of women and girls in the Crimes against Humanity Convention.
Our advocacy - Policy begins on the frontline
- We work with governments, the United Nations and other civil society actors to ensure comprehensive provisions to prevent and prosecute gender-based violence against women and girls are included in all relevant new policies, and push governments to prioritise and fund these solutions.
- We hold diplomatic dialogue and lead policy conversations.
- We participate and advocate for ending violence against women and girls during key UN sessions, including the General Assembly, the Human Rights Council, the Universal Periodic Review, and the Commission on the Status of Women.
- We listen, we unite, we collaborate, we partner.
- Because the strongest outcomes occur when women’s rights experts and decision-makers work together.
