About Us
A Global Force
Every Woman is a global coalition of more than 4,000 women’s rights activists and organisations in 165 countries working for the end of violence against all women and girls. We do this by partnering with governments, the United Nations, and other civil society organisations to advance international law, increase global accountability, and strengthen the movements working to end this violence.
Our work has played a critical role in advancing the global dialogue on ending gender-based violence against women and girls. Through bilateral and multilateral engagement with more than 100 countries, op-eds and policy reports, we’ve influenced policy discussions on solutions to end this violence at the United Nations, in diplomatic missions, and in communities and countries around the world.
Since our inception in 2013, we’ve grown from a small group of concerned activists into a global force of frontline activists, lawyers, scholars, doctors, and others, united in the belief that every woman and girl, everywhere, has the right to live free from all forms of violence. Today, despite the challenges women’s rights face, we’re emboldened by the deep commitment of women’s rights organisations, member states, and other stakeholders in working together to solve the problem of gender-based violence against women and girls. Collective action and collaboration are how we will get there.
