Patricia leads the strategy and execution of the campaign, in collaboration with the CEO, as well as the diplomacy and coalition teams for strategic engagement.
Patricia is a senior gender expert and a lawyer in international law — Arab, French, English and North American laws — whose work with the UN has focused on governance, women’s political participation and leadership, the rule of law, and gender equality. As the senior advisor and program coordinator for the UN Women Regional Office for Arab States, she supported the design of its Governance and Women’s Political Participation and Leadership program for the Arab States. She also designed and led the strategy and planning of UN Women Libya from the early stages of its creation and ensured its visibility. Patricia also organized the Tunis Forum for Gender Equality for UN Women Tunisia. She co-drafted the Gender Justice & the Law Report, which compiled all Libyan Laws that relate to women’s rights, and supervised and co-drafted Libya’s draft law on ending violence against women.
Patricia drafted two of Lebanon’s shadow reports to the UN CEDAW committee. She introduced the first court decisions based on CEDAW in Lebanon and supported the country’s creation of the First Ministry for Women’s Affairs.
Additionally, Patricia is the founder of Avenir Liban, an NGO promoting democracy, human rights and women’s and children’s rights. She is a humanitarian-activist who has built an orphanage in Cameroon, worked with street children in Gabon, and assisted in the reintegration of women over 45 to the workforce in France.
Patricia was awarded the French Medal of Associative Commitment by the mayor of Paris and Ile de France for her global engagement in human rights. She introduced the “Women’s Awards” in Lebanon that rewards NGOs and personal initiatives on advancing Gender Equality.
Patricia is French and Lebanese and speaks Arabic, French, and English.
