Dr. Eleanor Nwadinobi is a physician and independent gender, health, women’s rights, and women, peace, and security consultant. She is president of Widows Development Organisation and is the first Nigerian to be elected President of the Medical Women’s International Association, a global association for women physicians. Dr. Nwadinboi has worked with the African Union on peace and stability, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on child trafficking, and with UNICEF on girls’ education. She has also conducted research on gender-based violence for the World Bank.
Dr. Nwadinobi served as the Women and Girls Program Manager at Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Program (NSRP), a peace-building program funded by UK Aid. She has presented numerous papers on women’s rights and security, including the 2011 NGO Consultation Day at the 55th Commission on the Status of Women Conference (CSW) and UK House of Commons.
Dr. Nwadinobi is an Every Woman cofounder. She served on the founding Working Group, on the Steering Committee as co-chair during the campaign’s public launch, and as a member of the Expert Special Committee on Life Stages.
