Advance International Law
We partner with governments, the United Nations, and civil society organisations to advance international policies that strengthen global standards to end gender-based violence and drive a change in social and political norms.
Strong laws are the foundation of a safer, more just world.
With rates of violence against women and girls intensifying, we need urgent, global solutions, starting with stronger international laws. International law creates binding commitments on governments, providing a solid legal foundation for action and a tool for activists to push for implementation and change.
Policy begins at the frontlines.
The strongest legal outcomes occur when frontline expertise and lived reality work alongside decision-makers.
We work with governments, the United Nations and other civil society actors to ensure comprehensive provisions to prevent and prosecute gender-based violence are included in all relevant new policies, and push governments to prioritise and fund these solutions.
The Every Woman Coalition is actively working on determining campaigns and initiatives. Return here throughout 2026 to learn more.
Our advocacy
- We collaborate with governments, civil society organisations and UN entities to advance international legal solutions to end violence against women and girls.
- We hold diplomatic dialogue and lead policy conversations.
- We participate and advocate for ending violence against women and girls during key UN sessions, including the General Assembly, the Human Rights Council, the Universal Periodic Review, and the Commission on the Status of Women.
- We listen, we unite, we collaborate, we partner.
- Because the strongest outcomes occur when women’s rights experts and decision-makers work together.
