Dear Global Community,
After thirteen years of extraordinary leadership, Lisa Shannon will be transitioning from her role as CEO of Every Woman this December and stepping into a new role as Founder in Residence. Lisa’s vision and courage have transformed Every Woman from an ambitious idea into a powerful global coalition spanning 165 countries with meaningful progress toward the establishment of a global binding treaty to end violence against women and girls. We are deeply grateful for the tireless effort, creativity, and heart Lisa has poured into this movement.
The Board of Directors of Every Woman is also delighted to share that Lisa Ellis will serve as the organization’s Interim CEO. A trusted advisor to Every Woman since 2018, Lisa brings deep expertise and an unwavering commitment to human and women’s rights. She has spent years supporting communities affected by conflict, nurturing leadership within our coalition, and building trusted partnerships around the world. Her operational acumen, strategic insight, and steadfast dedication to justice make her uniquely well-suited to guide Every Woman through this next chapter.
This is not a farewell, but an evolution. With Lisa Shannon continuing to inspire as Founder in Residence and Lisa Ellis stepping into leadership, Every Woman is poised for continued growth and impact.
