CSW69: Honoring Women’s Leadership: A Distinguished Gathering of Global Leaders

New York, NY – It was a profound honor for Every Woman Treaty, through its Chief of Global Diplomatic Campaign Lawyer Patricia Elias, to participate as a panelist at the CSW69 side event, “Women’s Leadership and Challenging Global Trends,” co-hosted by the Government of Montenegro, United Nations Development Program, and Women Political Leaders, held at the United Nations Headquarters on March 10, 2025.

This pivotal forum provided an invaluable platform to address the challenges of democratic backsliding, rising authoritarianism, and global crises that continue to impact women’s rights and leadership.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the distinguished speakers whose expertise enriched our discussion: Moderated and guided by UNDP Deputy Assistant Administrator, Deputy Regional Director, Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS(RBEC) Mr. Nick René Hartmann.

– His Excellency Fatmir Gjeka, Minister of Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro
– Her Excellency Maida Gorčević, Minister of European Affairs, Montenegro
– Ms. Ivana Živković, Assistant Secretary General and RBEC Regional Director, UNDP
– Ms. Silvana Koch-Mehrin, President and Founder of Women Political Leaders (WPL)
– Ms. Yulia Netesova, Chief of Democratic Governance and Gender Unit, ODIHR/OSCE
– His Excellency, State Secretary of Slovenia, Mr. Dan Juvan
– Ms. Samra Hadžiabdić Filipović, Director, Agency for Gender Equality, BIH

At Every Woman Treaty, we remain committed to fostering global alliances and championing initiatives that enable women leaders to strengthen democratic resilience and advance gender-responsive governance. Through continued collaboration and decisive action, we can pave the way toward a more inclusive and equitable future.
